Star  Forts / Trace  Italienne . They  highlighted  the  importance  of   sapping/sappers as  a  siege  ops  strategy . Bangalore , Roorkee  and  Pune ( Kirkee )  are the  HQ  of  the  Madras  Sappers , Bengal  Sappers and  Bombay  Sappers of  the  corps  of  Engineers  of  the  Indian  Army .
