Which  old  man  connects ?

Amoeba  Proteus ( A ) , Proteus  Vulgaris ( B )  and  Proteobacteria ( Eg. E.Coli – pic  C )  have  all  been  appropriately  named  after  Proteus , the  shape-shifting  Greek  sea-god . Proteus  is  also  known  as  ‘The  Old  Man  of  the  Sea’ .

Cracked  only  by  Balakrishnan  and  Arun . Take  a  bow , young  men !

    Third one is Ecoli named after its discoverer

    Robert Koch became famous for isolating Bacillus anthracis (1877), the Tuberculosis bacillus (1882) and the Vibrio cholera (1883)

    Proteus – greek god and ‘old man of the sea’, who could assume many forms. Hence the shape shifting of amoebae, proteus baciili.
