Connect !
The connect – Geronimo
‘Geronimo !’ is an exclamation used by anyone jumping from a great height . It is attributed to Private Aubrey Eberhardt , a US Army paratrooper . His platoon was the first to test the then recently adopted parachute . On the eve of an unprecedented “mass jump” in 1940 , the platoon decided to calm their nerves by spending the day before taking in a film at the Main Post Theatre and a night at the local beer garden . The movie they watched was Geronimo ( the 1939 version ) , about the legendary Apache leader of the same name . Eberhardt’s comrades tried to intimidate him by saying that he’ll be too scared to even remember his name during the jump . Eberhardt replied that he’ll yell Geronimo while jumping out just to prove that he was not scared . He did and the exclamation caught on and is now used widely all over the world .
A is Wes Studi , who played Geronimo in the 1993 version ( am surprised that nobody identified him ) and B of course shows paratroopers jumping from a plane .
Goes uncracked !!
( P.S . I guess nobody noticed the exclamation mark after the Connect at the top . Geronimo is the first result which pops up if one runs a Google search on Exclamation + Paratroopers
