Daily Question # 340

This  American  stadium  has  a  very  apt  name . It  also  has  a very  apt  nickname . Gimme  both .

340a

340b

340c

This  is  the  Mile  High  Stadium  in  Denver , named  so  cos  Denver  is  exactly  a  mile  above  sea  level . The  nickname  I  was  looking  for  is  ‘The Diaphragm’  ( the  female  contraceptive  ie ) , as  the  shape  of  the  stadium  resembles  one :-)

Fully  cracked  by  Debasish , Rithwik  and  Anil  Raghavan . Many  got  the  name  correct – Freestyler , Siddharth  Jain , Harit  Modi , Abhijeet , Arun  Hiregange , Kamal  Rathi , Arun and  Comfortably & Technically  Dumb .

P.S . @ Harit – Welcome  to  Dreamz . Hope  you  have  a  good  time  with  us . You  can  leave  your  answers  as  comments  here . In  the  case  of  monthly  sets , you  may  post  them  as  comments  or  mail  them  to  captain.chandrakant@gmail.com

    ohio stadium or “the horseshoe”

  5. Harit Modi says:

This is my first time, so not sure if I should be leaving the asnwer here or elsewhere. I’m guessing the comments are moderated and so my answer won’t be revealed till the day the answerrs are supposed to be. I think this is the Mile High Stadium – the offical name being Invesco Field. While the MHS name is descriptive, I do not find anything interesting about IF. Maybe, I got only one part of the answer correctly.

Looking forward to your quizzes in the future and please post the preferred way of submitting answers for newbies. :-) Thanks.

  6. abhijeet says:

    Mile High Stadium

  7. Arun Hiregange says:

The photos are all of the old stadium at Denver, named the Mile High Stadium.
The new one is Invesco Field, but everyone still calls it by the old name.
Not sure if this covers what you are looking for.

Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado nicknamed “the Diaphragm,” a reference to its shape resembling that of a birth-control device.

  15. Vasu says:

The Ohio stadium, known as ‘The Horseshoe’, or ‘The House Harley Built’.

  16. Vasu says:

No, wait a minute. Second thoughts…. The ground has the name Broncos written on it. That means it is Boise state university stadium, Idaho, US of A. And these pics are prior to the turf being changed form green astroturf to bue. Hence giving the stadium its nickname -’The Blue’….

  17. Invesco Field & Mile HIgh Stadium

first one because Invesco bought the Naming Rights. Second one because Denver, where the stadium is, is exactly a mile above sea level

  18. anil raghavan says:

mile high stadium, denver, colorado sometimes referred to as diaphragm because of the shape
