Daily Question # 333

The  clip  is  the  opening  sequence  of  a  very  famous  movie  A  which  has  many  distinctions  to  its  credit . A  very  (in)famous  incident  B  in  the  early  part  of  this  decade  paid  tribute  to  this  movie  by  associating  itself  with  the  name  and  characters  of  the  movie .

Just  name  A  and  B .

The  movie  is  the  1984  flick  ‘Red  Dawn’ . The  operation  to  capture  Saddam  Hussein  in  2003  was  codenamed  ‘Operation  Red  Dawn’  after  the  movie . The  targets  of  the  operation  were  codenamed  Wolverine  1  and  2  after  Wolverines , a  group  of  rebel  students  in  the  movie . See  Appu’s  comment  for  more  details .

Cracked  by  Manjith , Comfortably  &  Technically  Dumb , Freestyler , Arun , Abhi , Arun  Hiregange , Govind , Hadi , Anil  Raghavan  and  Kamal  Rathi .

R.I.P  Patrick  Swayze . Its  such  a  coincidence !

  1. Manjith says:

Havent seen this movie. But strictly going by the Russian uniforms, i’ll bet that this was the movie about a secret Russian invasion of the USA which led to the naming of the operation to capture Saddam Hussein.
The attack on his underground hiding place was codenamed “Operation Wolverine” or something. Will hazard a guess for the movie name as “Red Dawn” :)

“early part of this decade”–whew..has it been such a long time ?!

  2. Red Dawn and probably Operation Red Dawn
