In their initial days the Coen brothers had a lot of their friends doing cameos for them (to save on money apparently). In fact, Raimi, Frances Mcdormand(shown in second video), Coen brothers and Holly Hunter shared an apartment in Bronx at the beginning of their careers and helped each other out professionally too. Coen brothers worked as editors on Raimi’s Evil Dead. Raimi returned the favour by co-writing Crimewave and The Hudsucker Proxy with Coen Brothers. The Coen brothers gave Raimi advice on shooting in snow for A Simple Plan, based on their experiences with Fargo .

I almost got bowled by an unintentional googly.
I got the 2nd movie easily, and thought it was a clue to the 1st movie (different one). Then realized maybe both a videos to the same movie.
BTW later I realized that the shortest route was a Google search on “Snickering Gunman”.

Ok, the second video was shown just for u to know it’s a Coen brothers movie
Just like Sylvester Stallone’s ‘Rocky’, the Coen brothers got a lot of their friends and family to play cameos in the movie. (another example – Steve Buscemi)

Sam Raimi helped write The Hudsucker Proxy, which the Coen brothers directed; and the Coen brothers helped write Crimewave, which Raimi directed. Raimi took tips about filming A Simple Plan from the Coen brothers, who had recently finished Fargo. Simple Plan had Holly Hunter as the leading Lady.. Phew
I personally feel that Raimi was a much better director before SpiderMan series. A Simple Plan is a very good watch.
