Daily Question # 318

Find  the  Monthly  Set – 9  here .

What  precedent  was  set  during  the  incident  depicted  below ?

318

The  painting  depicts  the  wreck  of  the  British  Naval  ship  HMS  Birkenhead  in  1852 . There  weren’t  enough  lifeboats  and  the  soldiers  on-board  stood  firm , allowing  the  women  and  children  to  board  the  boats  first . This  gave  rise  to  the  “women  and  children  first“  protocol  in  the  event  of  a  mishap .

Cracked  by  Manjith , Arun  Hiregange , Anil  Raghavan  and  Ijaz  Aslam .
