The  man  is  Joseph  Rosenthal , who  took  the  iconic  snap  of  the  US  flag  being  raised  on  Iwo  Jima . The  structure  that  has  been  blanked  out  is  the  Marine  Corps  War  Memorial  in  Virginia  and  is  based  on  Rosenthal’s  snap . The  rock  is  Sulphur  and  Iwo  Jima  literally  means  “Sulphur  Island” .

Cracked  by  Kaustuba , Anil  Raghavan , Arun  Hiregange , Kamal  Rathi , Rithwik  and  Varun .
