What else is missing in this snap apart from the dude’s hands ?
The man in the pic is Harold Russell , the only person to have received 2 Oscars for the same role in the same movie – The Best Supporting Actor Award and an honorary Oscar ”for bringing hope and courage to his fellow WW II veterans” ( The Best Years Of Our Lives in 1947 ) . However , he sold one of his Oscars in the 90s to gather money for the treatment of his ailing wife and hence missing from the pic .

He won two Academy Awards for his role in “The Best Years Of Our Lives” in 1947 ….. one for Best Supporting Actor and other an honorary Oscar for “bringing hope and courage to his fellow veterans.” The special award had been created because the Board of Governors very much wanted to salute Russell, a non-professional actor, but assumed he had little chance for a competitive win. It was the first time the Academy has awarded two Oscars for the same role.
