Daily Question # 29

This  painting  which  was  a  landmark  work  in  the  history  of  American  art  hangs  in  the  Terra  Museum  of  American  art , Chicago . The  work  was  completed  in  1832-33  and  fetched  $3,25,000  in  1982  which  was  the  highest  price  fetched  by  an  American  painting  till  then .

Just  identify  the  painter .

Samuel  Morse , who  invented  the  Telegraph  and  the  Morse  Code . The  painting  is  ‘ Gallery  of  the  Louvre ‘ .
